Update from Administrator – December 10, 2020

Over the last 24 hours, we have had two employees test positive for COVID-19 through use of our antigen testing machine. We have taken all necessary precautions to minimize exposure and have determined that there has been no significant exposure for our residents due to the ongoing use of consistent PPE use- eye protection and facemasks. There is a chance of these positive results being false, but we are treating them as true Covid positives until results from the pending PCRs are received to confirm or negate the antigen tests.  Regardless, we are hopeful that these positive tests remain isolated incidents as did our previous employee tests.

As I continue to mention, this pandemic is still very much active in our state and region. An increase in cases was anticipated following the Thanksgiving holiday and our recent positive test results serve as scary reminders that we must all remain vigilant in fighting this pandemic. We are reminding our staff to not only practice safeguards against COVID in our center, but to be vigilant outside of our center and share these practices with their friends and loved ones.

Unfortunately, if the PCR results for these employees return positive we will need to restart our 14 day restriction on indoor visitation. The requirement is to go 14 days with no new positive cases in order to reopen, which we have been unable to achieve at this point in time. Please know that we are actively working to reopen so that you can visit your loved ones. During this ongoing restriction we are still doing outdoor visits (weather pending), Facetime visits, window visits and facilitating calls as requested.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this information please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone.
