Update from Administrator – September 8, 2020

As always, our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy. I am pleased to report that we continue to remain COVID-free for both our staff and residents.

Thank You for all your support that you have been giving us during this difficult time. We are doing our best to keep our residents safe and happy. With that being said, Grandparent’s Day is coming up on September 13th and we would like to do something special for our residents. If you have a grandparent in our facility and would like to send them a card, pictures of grandchildren and/or drawings, please drop them off with the receptionist for your loved one. Please remember to label all items with the name of the grandparent. If you would rather send an email, please use recreation@litchfieldwoodshcc.com. Thank you for your efforts.

Visitation Update
We are working to develop a new visitation plan and policy for our center that is thoughtful, safe, and compliant with the new guidance. We will be in touch with you as soon as we have finalized the plan. In the meantime, our current visitation policy remains in place and all scheduled visits will go on as planned, without interruption.

We would also like to clarify that the new guidance did specifically add what is called a “compassionate care visit.” These compassionate care visits are limited to two circumstances: end stage of life and a significant change of condition as deemed by a physician or APRN. It is only these specific compassionate care visits that can occur inside of the center. No other indoor visits will be allowed by DPH at this time.

Please remember that a mask is required to be worn at all times by everyone participating in the visit, including the resident, and 6ft of social distancing must be maintained. If these preventive measures are not followed, then we are required to discontinue the visit immediately to keep everyone safe. If you have concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me.

As a reminder, our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 11th at 1pm. We encourage all residents and family members to call in with any questions or concerns you may have. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.

Thank you and please stay safe and healthy!
