Update from Administrator – December 4, 2020
Good afternoon everyone,
I wanted to send a quick update in follow up to my previous email. On Tuesday, our team notified you of a resident that tested positive via the antigen testing machine we have in the facility. This testing strategy isn’t as accurate as the PCR testing so we followed up with a PCR test the following day. We received the PCR results back this morning and they are negative! This means that we do not currently have any positive residents in the facility, which we are very thankful for. Unfortunately, this does not change our visitation restrictions because we had a new employee test positive on Wednesday. The employee is not a direct caregiver so exposure is minimal but we are taking all precautions necessary to ensure the safety of our residents.
Indoor visits are paused at this time for at least the next 14 days but we are able to continue outdoor visitation if the weather is suitable for all parties. We are hopeful that we can remain free of any new cases and resume visitation soon. I will send out further communication as updates become available. Please know that “alternative” visitation continues. Remember that we do offer iPads for our residents to use for video visits, phone calls, personal use etc. to ensure that you and your loved ones remain in contact, as best as you can during these very uncertain times. Our team will do their best to accommodate requests for window visits as well.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need additional clarification.
Thank you,
Marisa Jones LNHA, MBA
