Update from Administrator – December 9, 2020
Good evening,
Our team hopes this email finds you doing well and staying healthy.
We are happy to report that results from last week’s round of testing for our residents and staff were all negative. This means that we do not currently have any positive residents in the facility, which we are very thankful for. Unfortunately, this does not change our visitation restrictions because we had an employee test positive on 12/2. The guidance we have received is that we can reopen for indoor visits after 14 days with no new positive cases, resident nor employee. Our employees started their weekly testing on Sunday, which will continue through Friday morning, and our residents will all be tested tomorrow, as long as they are willing. If all these results return negative, we are hopeful that we can start scheduling indoor visits for the middle to end of next week.
While indoor visits are paused please remember that “alternative” visitation continues . We do offer iPads for our residents to use for video visits, phone calls, personal use etc. to ensure that you and your loved ones remain in contact, as best as you can, during these very uncertain times. Our team will also do their best to accommodate requests for window visits as well.
Another bit of good news is that we have started conversations regarding the distribution of a Covid vaccine. We are hopeful that we will see the initial round of vaccination occur before the end of the year because the vulnerable population that we serve has been recognized as a priority. Please anticipate a member from our team reaching out to you in the near future to ask for consent to administer the vaccine. We are in the very beginning stages of discussion so not much detail is available yet but we are excited to share the news. As more details become available related to timing and the process we will communicate that to all of you.
Attached is a Covid-19 Update sheet that we are sharing with all of our residents within the facility and we would like to share with you as well. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need clarification related to the items outlined.
Our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Friday, December 11th at 1pm. We encourage all residents and family members to call in with any questions or concerns you may have. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise. We appreciate the support of our community during this time.
