Update from Administrator – November 11, 2020
On October 30th, we learned that one of our employees had tested positive for COVID-19 through our ongoing testing. We have since conducted testing on all our residents and employees, with no new positive cases identified. We are currently conducting our second round of testing, employees being tested this week Monday-Friday and all residents being tested tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov 11th). We are hopeful that we will remain Covid free but will send a follow up email at the end of the week to report our status.
Many of you have been inquiring about when visitation can resume. We know how difficult these times have been and appreciate your ongoing patience and understanding. The guidance we have been given is that if we have no new positives for 14 days then we can resume visitation. This means that if all test results come back negative this week, we should be able to resume visitation next week. Please cross your fingers!!
As I have mentioned in the past, this pandemic is still very much active in our state. We continue to see an uptick in positive COVID cases throughout many communities, including ours. This situation serves as a reminder that we must all remain vigilant in following all guidelines, recommendations, and best practices to stay safe and fight this pandemic. We are reminding our staff to not only practice safeguards against COVID in our center, but to be vigilant outside of our center and share these practices with their friends and loved ones.
PLEASE wear your mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance.
Please know that “alternative” visitation continues while we are awaiting test results and even when visitation resumes. Remember that we do offer iPads for our residents to use for video visits, phone calls, etc. to ensure that you and your loved ones remain in contact, as best as you can during these very uncertain times. Our team will do their best to accommodate requests for window visits as well.
As a reminder, our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 12th at 12pm. We encourage all residents and family members to call in with any questions or concerns you may have. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.
We appreciate the support of our community during this time.
