Update from Administrator – October 28, 2020
As always, our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.
We are happy to report that we remain COVID free!
I want to reiterate that this pandemic is still active and while we remain COVID free, the state of Connecticut is reporting an uptick in new cases of COVID. Staff are required to test weekly in an attempt to minimize resident exposure as much as possible. This serves as a reminder that we must all remain vigilant in following all guidelines, recommendations, and best practices to stay safe and fight this pandemic.
We are continuing to fine tune our indoor plans for visitation to ensure we are keeping everyone safe as the weather gets colder. Please be patient as we work through the details and determine how many visits can occur at one time given guidelines from DPH and the CDC. If there was miscommunication this week regarding the future scheduling of appointments which caused some concerns, we apologize. The team will be meeting tomorrow to further discuss our plans and we will do our best to accommodate all requests, within reason, understanding that every resident needs to have the same opportunities for visitation.
Visitation Reminders:
– No pets are allowed
– Limit of 2-3 visitors only, this includes children
– All visitors and residents must wear a facemask that fully covers your nose and mouth and it must remain in place throughout the entire visit; you must perform hand hygiene prior to approaching the visit area
– Visitors must be screened by Litchfield Woods staff prior to engaging in the scheduled visit
– Please remember, social distancing means no hugging and no touching; you must remain 6ft from one another at all times
– Our team reserves the right to terminate any visit if there appears to be a potential of compromising the safety of our residents and/or staff

As a reminder, our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th at 1pm. We encourage all residents and family members to call in with any questions or concerns you may have. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.
