Update from Administrator – April 21, 2021

This afternoon, we learned that one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19 through our ongoing PCR testing. We continue to follow guidance and protocols set by CT-DPH and are testing our staff weekly at this time.

Unfortunately, today’s new positive result causes us to need to put indoor visitation on hold until one full round of testing is completed, for residents and staff, with no new positive cases identified. If there are no new positive cases, then we can restart indoor visitation. I anticipate this process should be completed within the week if our care partner can schedule our resident testing but will send out further communication as updates become available. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Please know that outdoor visits can continue to occur, and “alternative” visitation continues to be offered. Remember that we do offer iPads for our residents to use for video visits, phone calls, etc. to ensure that you and your loved ones remain in contact, as best as you can during these very uncertain times.

We continue to encourage our residents and staff to get vaccinated and our pharmacy is currently offering the Moderna vaccine. Please let me know if you would like your loved one to receive this vaccine. You can email me directly with your decision and we appreciate your timely response.

We appreciate the support of our community during this time.
