Update from Administrator – April 7, 2021

Dear Families,

Overall, no significant changes to our center or our visitation plans. We are happy to report that we remain free of the Covid virus and are working hard to keep it that way.

Thankfully, we remain open for indoor visitation.  Our process for scheduling visits remains the same. If you do not have an appointment scheduled, please contact the Recreation team at 860-489-5801 to schedule an appointment for a visit (indoor, outdoor, window or virtual). If you have any difficulty finding a preferable time, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Please keep in mind that each resident is limited to 2 visitors at a time when having an indoor visit to ensure our visitation space remains within the appropriate capacity and each resident has the same opportunity for visits.

We continue to take all necessary precautions, including wearing personal protective equipment, additional cleaning, hand washing and sanitizing, as well as and conducting regular testing of our staff and residents. We have been partnered with Griffin Health to continue vaccinating our residents with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine in addition to having the Moderna vaccine available to us through our pharmacy. We are very excited to continue doing our part in eradicating this nasty virus. If your loved one has not received his/her vaccine yet and you would like him/her to get it please let me know.

A reminder to everyone that we do have various tablet devices for your loved one to utilize to access games, various communication tools, games, news, and more. We are able to do some tutoring and training of the tablets so that residents are more comfortable with them if needed.

Our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 8th at 1pm. We encourage any residents and family members to contact us with questions or concerns you may have about the care we are offering. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.

Thank you and, as always, please stay safe and healthy!
