Update from Administrator – January 28, 2021

This evening, we learned that one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19 through our ongoing PCR testing. We continue to follow guidance and protocols set by CT-DPH and are testing our staff twice weekly at this time.  All residents are being swabbed once a week and had their swabs completed this morning. We are currently awaiting the return of their results and are hopeful all results will come back negative.

Unfortunately, today’s new positive result restarts our 14-day window for indoor visitation.  I will send out further communication as updates become available. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Please know that “alternative” visitation continues. Remember that we do offer iPads for our residents to use for video visits, phone calls, etc. to ensure that you and your loved ones remain in contact, as best as you can during these very uncertain times. Our team will do their best to accommodate requests for window visits as well.

Next Tuesday, Feb 2nd, we will be hosting our third vaccination clinic with CVS. Our residents and staff will be offered the Pfizer Covid vaccine again. Please let me know if you do not want your loved one to receive the second dose of the vaccine or if you would like your loved one to receive the first dose. You can email me directly with your decision and we appreciate your timely response. If your loved one receives his/her first dose with us they will be required to schedule their second dose within the community because we have not been scheduled to host a fourth clinic within the facility.

We appreciate the support of our community during this time.
