Update from Administrator – January 6, 2021

Dear Families,
Happy New Year!
We are happy to report that our residents and staff are currently free of the Covid-19 virus! Our last Covid positive employee was on 12/22 so we have eclipsed our 14 days with no new positive cases. Reaching this benchmark means that we are now able to open for indoor visitation within our Recreation Room. We will be committed to remaining vigilant about screening all visitors and ask that you do not visit if you or someone in your household is not feeling well.

Visitation Reminders:
– No pets are allowed
– Limit of 2-3 visitors only, this includes children
– All visitors and residents must wear a facemask that fully covers your nose and mouth and it must remain in place throughout the entire visit; you must perform hand hygiene prior to approaching the visit area
– Visitors must be screened by Litchfield Woods staff prior to engaging in the scheduled visit
– Please remember, social distancing means no hugging and no touching; you must remain 6ft from one another at all times
– Our team reserves the right to terminate any visit if there appears to be a potential of compromising the safety of our residents and/or staff
The process for scheduling these visits remains the same: schedule a visit by calling 860-489-5801 or emailing us at recreation@litchfieldwoodshcc.com

Our next round of Covid testing for all residents will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 6th and our staff are currently being tested twice a week due to Litchfield County being over the CMS 10% threshold rule that triggers the bi-weekly testing requirement.

The second dose of the Covid vaccine is scheduled to be administered on Tuesday, January 12th. If your loved one did not receive the first dose of the vaccine on 12/22 and you would like them to receive it on Jan 12th, please let me know as soon as possible so I can ensure they are included on our next roster. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are hopeful that this vaccine will be a lifesaving turning point in the fight against COVID-19.

As a reminder, our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 7th at 1pm. We encourage all residents and family members to call in with any questions or concerns you may have. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.
Our team here at Litchfield Woods hopes your year has started out happy and healthy!
