Update from Administrator – May 31, 2021
Happy Memorial Day! Our team and I hope this email finds you spending time with family and remembering those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
This will be my last family update as my last day at Litchfield Woods is Wednesday, June 2nd. It has been my pleasure being able to interact with your loved ones and I will miss them all. Thank you for all the support you have given me over the past 10 months and I look forward to seeing everyone in the future. The new Administrator, Tim Flaherty, will be starting tomorrow (Tuesday June 1st) and will continue maintaining the open communication with you all.
Please remember that we continue to encourage visits to be pre-scheduled to ensure safe and healthy visits for all. This allows us to ensure your loved one is available and not participating in therapy or one of the many activities when you come. Our Recreation Team is actively working to expand programming to socialize our residents and we are doing our best to accommodate all requests. As we try to work out the details of getting back to normal, we appreciate your ongoing flexibility while we try to meet everyone’s needs. For visitation appointments, please contact the Recreation team at 860-489-5801. If you have difficulty getting through to someone please call the facility and ask for Kathy or Senther who will be leading the Recreation team moving forward.
Although not mandatory, we continue to encourage any employee who has not been vaccinated to obtain one. Currently, they may obtain one at a community clinic. We are also working with our pharmacy to offer the Moderna vaccine to assist our team and new residents in obtaining the vaccine right here in our center. Please let me know if you would like your loved one scheduled to receive the Moderna vaccine here in our facility.
